an uneventful drive up through france, thank goodness - even getting through paris was relatively pain free (no traffic jams!)

Beautiful desolation in this pic. Maybe that had something to so with the traffic. Nobody's about anywhere. *G*
How cold was it? It certainly doesn't look sunny.
actually, it was quite warm! cooler than it had been further south, but by no means cold!
